Youth 4 Change Network organizes events with all kind of actors of the Youth Inclusion.

Thanks to this meetings Y4CN is able to gather all the ideas, challenges and best practices in the following reports. 

WORKSHOPS

"Some challenges were regularly emerging, we identified 6 categories :

  • Motivation & Ambition 

  • Recruitment 

  • Environment: Families and social pressure

  • Lack of quality education 

  • Job integration 

  • Sustainability of the program ( funds & partners)

In the following pages, we listed the ideas of solutions that were discussed during the workshops for each of these categories. You will find some of these solutions several times, as they can be used to tackle different challenges."

  • Self & personality 

  • Profesional inclusion 

  • Living on their own 

  • Administration, funding and staff

WEBINARs

"With Y4CN, we have the chance to be in contact with many NGOs working with Youth all over the world. Through the discussions we have with them, we realized that some challenges are regularly coming back and especially one, regarding the follow-up of the youth.

 

We decided to organize both workshops and webinars on this topic. We aimed at gathering Y4CN members challenges regarding this topic and their solutions put in place to face these issues."

"This theme was suggested by one of our members. He said “we are fine with working with Youth who come from poor backgrounds, but we have trouble, we simply don’t know how to deal with Youth who had a hard life trajectory (have been in drugs, in jail, are violent, etc.). We don’t know how to work with them”.

Here are the results of all your great work! You will notice that some elements are valid while working with Youth in general, but are even more important while working with Youth with a hard life trajectory!"

"In this particular period when the various measures taken by the different States (confinement, cessation of certain activities, etc.) can impact our work, we decided to meet around webinars in order for all of us to share our challenges and our good practices put in place in terms of crisis management.

 

To keep following the youth, we need to reinvent our actions quickly and shift our ways of working together, now more than ever.

The objective was thus to discuss ongoing actions, guidelines to follow, finding new solutions."

FORUMS

Youth 4 Change Network a réuni le 30 mai 2017 les acteurs qui travaillent pour l’inclusion des jeunes afin d’échanger et de trouver des solutions concrètes, durables et collaboratives autour des quatre thèmes suivants:

Motivation scolaire

Quels facteurs pour lutter contre le décrochage?

L’éducation par la professionnalisation

Le travail, un milieu d’apprentissage?

Reconnaissance de la diversité des compétences

Stratégie contre la discrimination?

Inclusion des jeunes exclus

Quelles opportunités d’emploi?

In Brussels, on May 22nd, as well as in Paris, on May 25th, all participants to the forums participated in workshops offered by Youth 4 Change Network.

Succeeding in Youth empowerment: which factors specific to each person should be taken into account and worked on?

How can organizations and their programs be built around Youth empowerment?

What are the possible cooperation methods between companies and NGOs?

How to measure / evaluate Youth empowerment?

In Brussels, on May 20th and in Paris, on May 24th, all participants to the forums participated in 3 activities.

  • Testimonies from inspiring young men and women who, after transforming their lives, decided to push others young people to take action as well ! 

  • A round table with speakers coming from different organizations to discuss the topic of social and professional inclusion of young adults

  • Workshops lead by La Fabrique’s. It consisted in developing a board game, to best support six young people from exclusion to inclusion.

CONNECT - SUPPORT - ACT TOGETHER
